* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
North central Will County in northeastern Illinois...
Southeastern Cook County in northeastern Illinois...
* Until 930 PM CDT.
* At 858 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Navy Pier to near Lockport, moving northeast at
45 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
* Locations impacted include...
Chicago, Joliet, Hammond, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn,
Calumet City, Englewood, South Shore, Roseland, Chicago Lawn,
Burbank, Oak Forest, Harvey, Lockport, New Lenox, Homer Glen, Blue
Island, Dolton, Homewood, Alsip, Mokena, Palos Hills, Ashburn, and
Chatham.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for northeastern
Illinois.
