What are snow rollers?

Snow rollers are a very rare phenomenon where snowballs form naturally by a very strong wind blowing across a flat, snowcovered field when the snow is easily compacted (snow temperature near 32 degrees F). The wind picks up a small piece of snow from the surface and pushes it along, and it grows as it rolls along the field. Some very nice snow rollers were photographed in Marlborough, England in February, 2019.
Interesting facts:
If you have ever seen snow rollers, you are lucky. Most professional meteorologists go their whole lives with ever seeing this unusual phenomenon.
